Alchemical transformations is a body of works which incorporate archetypal images that make connections with dreams and speak of spiritual transformation. The elements of earth, sky, and fire are a recurring feature as well as archetypal images such as seeds, nests, birds, rocks, ladders and the house. Verticality and the transformation from matter to spirit are expressed in a predominantly monochromatic palette, although the alchemical colours of white, black, red and gold are also incorporated through the use of gold, graphite and sanguine pigments together with gesso.
